PSYCHOLOGIST APPOINTMENTS

Psychological Support and Therapy for English speaking clients

I am a clinical psychologist (Master's degree in Psychology, University of Jyväskylä) and currently training as a psychotherapist (Cognitive-Integrative approach, University of Helsinki). In addition, my previous qualifications include a degree in physiotherapy, a Master's degree in Health Sciences, and a teaching qualification.

A psychologist offers professional, evidence-based support through conversation and collaborative work. You are welcome to book an appointment for a wide range of concerns, including low mood, anxiety, difficult life situations, major life changes, or periods of crisis.

Some of the topics I commonly work with include:

  • Anxiety-related difficulties, such as generalized anxiety, excessive worry, rumination, and reassurance-seeking
  • High self-demands, self-criticism, overachievement, and perfectionism
  • Shame and other difficult emotions
  • Low mood and depression
  • Building self-compassion and psychological flexibility
  • Sudden life crises, loss, and grief (including bereavement, miscarriage, and the loss of a pet)
  • Parenthood, pregnancy, and exploring your own attachment history
  • Stress management, coping, recovery, and burnout-related symptoms, including physical manifestations of stress
  • Psychological factors related to lifestyle change and health behaviours
  • Emotions, emotional regulation, and emotional skills
  • Relationship-related concerns, including challenges in intimate relationships and coping with separation or divorce

CLINICAL APPROACH

My work is grounded in evidence-based psychological approaches, drawing from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), cognitive analytic principles, compassion-focused therapy (CFT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), among others.

Every therapeutic process begins with a careful exploration of your individual situation, needs, and goals. The methods we use are always tailored to you. My approach is integrative, meaning that I combine different therapeutic models and techniques to support meaningful and lasting change.

As a psychologist, I am warm, perceptive, open-minded, and actively engaged in helping you make sense of your experiences. I value genuine human connection and believe that feeling safe, understood, and respected is essential for effective therapeutic work. You do not need to worry about saying the right thing in our sessions. Alongside difficult topics, there is often room for humour, new insights, and moments of relief.

I meet each client with respect and curiosity, adapting both the pace and methods of our work to suit their individual needs. Together, we work purposefully towards the changes that matter most to you.

If you feel that this approach resonates with you, I warmly invite you to get in touch. We can arrange an initial "first" appointment, get to know each other, and create a plan that supports your goals and wellbeing.
